Envision a food system that serves public health using seeds, soil and British sunshine

History of British
Phaseolus Bean Breeding
2BHealthyGB (now NurturalFood) was launched in 2011 at the University of Warwick's Crop Centre near Wellesbourne (previously the National Vegetable Research Station). However, its story traces back four decades earlier when public investment from the UK Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries (now DEFRA) supported applied research for UK farmers on the agronomy and genetic improvement of white navy bean varieties.
The timeline below shows how far we've come since then.

Public research also supported private breeding of a red navy bean called 'Stop'
